It looks to be another great year of deer hunting here in Indiana, yes, the crops are in terrible shape and most farmers are in the fields now cutting corn. . .I'm sure it will all be out in a few weeks, just in time for the bow opener on Oct. 1st. I will try to post some trail cam pics of a few of the bruisers cruising around. I did get a pic of one that was completly hard horn. . .no velvet. Getting a little impatient:) Also, this year the bow season runs from Oct 1st till Jan 6th 2013. ( including crossbows).

I posted some pics of this years deer cam , and last years bucks that we harvested. its in my personal file take a look, let me know what you think!

Good luck!! I'm hopiing this year is better than last for me. Saw lots of deer, but didn't do too much shooting. The freezer's already mostly empty, so any/all deer better give a wide berth this year...

PS- What part of IN do you call home? I live in Hamilton Co, but grew up in the SW part of the state and now hunt in the south central part of the state.

Southern Montgomery county is where I do most of my hunting. I did get a new farm over in Vermillion Co this year that is showing some great potential, also hunt in Parke County around Elmdale. We actually did really well last year, shot some real nice deer. this year may be a little weird with the crops out early. . .turkey season sure was strange this past Spring. I'm getting excited though either way. I'm going to miss the opener of bow, as I will be in Wyoming trying my luck at antelope for the first time. (crossing my fingers) :)

Pronghorn hunting is about as fun as it gets, good luck!!! I got 3 last year in a solo trip to Wyoming. I went to college in Crawfordsville, but never did much if any hunting over that way. This year's bow season will definitely be different than in many years past with the crops getting out so early. I'd definitely say its more common to see them shelling corn in November vs. September like this year. I won't be out for the opener either as I'll be in Idaho helping a buddy try to find a sheep to shoot. Still leaves plenty of time when we get back. I need to find a few places closer to home than the 3hrs I drive to the southern part of the state...

Good luck in Wyoming. Pronghorn hunting is a blast, you'll love it. I'll be there around Oct 10th. What unit you hunting?

I'm heading out with my dad and best friend to hunt area 42. I'm pumped to be heading out there for the first time. We have hunted elk in Colorado for years, pigs in texas, turkeys in Missouri, snow geese in missouri. . . this is one of my bucket list hunts. . .still have the moose with a bow to get done and possibly caribou and maybe an alligator!! :)

1pointer, so your a Wabash man I take it? I have alot of friends that went through there. . .I on the other hand went the little less academic, more partying route of Ball State. . . thank goodness I survived that!! LOL

Yessir, I'm a Little Giant class of 2001. I visited BSU a few times while in college. Good times...I think... :D
