Brown rice has always had that cardboard texture/taste to me. I love a good white rice but knowing that as I get older it isn't good for me. What brand and cooking method works best?

Boil the rice

sauté some onions and jalapeños in butter

Lots of butter

Toss in some fresh garlic

Throw the rice in the mixture, toss some cilantro in, lots of salt, and some pepper

Make a bed of rice on a plate. Place one well seasoned, well crusted, rare ribeye on said bed of rice.

Eat

White rice is definitely better for you than brown rice. Brown rice has the outer layer that accumulates much more arsenic. There's a reason rice eating cultures focus on white.

I read that the other day about the arsenic. I guess white rice cooked then stored over night in the fridge converts some of the bad starch.

Honestly I prefer brown rice.

While dry, saute the rice in butter until it gets a little color and starts to smell nutty. Add garlic and saute another minute or so. Add water and salt and cook until done. Delicious.
