Long Range Hunting Forecast - Need some help

I'll be moving in May and though it isn't in stone, I do believe the military will be sending me to Oklahoma City for 3-4 years. That being said, I'm looking for some pointers for non-res lope hunting. Hunting Oklahoma doesn't really give me a warm fuzzy.

I'm guessing Wyoming and Arizona are some good states to check out. Any others to consider? What areas/units do you recommend?

Trying to step outside my comfort zone (Alaska) and broaden my out of state hunting experiences.

Start putting in for the draw in NM. Stallion Range and Oscura units--low odds of drawing--good odds of taking an 18 inch buck. Plus, a non-res tag is only like $300
