Lasik

I got it six years ago. I had superman vision after the surgery but it has slowly slipped since then. Maybe I am just getting old...I see very well in the morning and it slowly slips as the day goes on. Would I recomend it...yes. I still dont miss wearing contacts for eighteen hours a day.

I had RK done about 5 years ago, still have 20/20 vision. Well worth the money spent.

I'm kind of a dummy on this Lasik subject. My close vision is getting worse with age but I can still see at a distance very well (read this as: can see stuff to shoot but, unless it has a scope on it, can't aim worth a poop with open sights). Can Lasik correct the poor up-close vision problem without affecting my distant vision?

had it both eyes. love it and would do it again in a second...if i needed it. i had great results 20/10 in both eyes. its been about 6 years and not sure its that good anymore but still probably 20/20 anyway. id say if you are a good surgical canidate, do it.

I really would like to check this out. I was laying out a Stratigraphic Cross-Section this morning and could barely see the lines to splice the Log section together. It just gets so agrivating because I look so sexy in my glasses. John

Had RK done in 1985 - still can see an ant scratch himself at 100 yds but now i can't read the paper I'm holding. It was well worth the time and money.

Since you are a draftsman I would think you would be aware of the "zoom in" command. :D

i got it done about 7 years ago and it is the best money spent. ust make sure you go to a quality place that does the eye care for a living not just the lasik. Also look at their aftercare and contacts. My dr was the Northwest eye clinic out of minnepolis of mn.

John's vision maladies are the result of too much 'hands on' time.
:hump::D

BTW, I had to have my RK (12 years ago) tuned on my left eye last Thursday with PRK. Amazing stuff, go for it Gunner 46.

What were the costs ? (total) Do insurance plans cover some of the costs? I'm really at a loss to all this and just now starting to look into it. There has been a dramatic chnage with my left eye in the past couple of years. I need to read fine print daily (Auditor) and I drive 1000 miles a week, so something is going to have to change.

I don't beleive refractive correction is covered by most policies. I haven't gotten a bill yet but I'll guess about 3 grand for both eyes...again, just a guess.

LOL, Yes I know the Zoom command. This was before the sections were scanned. I am going to have to check into this. Is it for near and far sighted vision. John

Dammmmnnnnn SAM ! Guess I'm not the only one who tapped the trigger on a Doe (legally) just to ground count a small 7 pt whitetail ! Not Funny. I had a past G/F just tell me I should do just ONE more tour for the Corps..... little did she understand !

50000 rds is a little bit different than 5000, or 500000. I'd might make the mistake.

It's my understanding that lasik or any of the corrective eye surgeries do not fix presbyopia (difficulty reading or with close up things). That said, when I have the money I still plan on having it done. At least 2 of the providers here at work have had it done and love it.

i've had glasses since grade school. looked into lasik and was told it WILL NOT improve close up
vision(reading, etc...) so why go thru an operation and end up still needing to lug around glasses
anyway. guys who havent needed glasses hate'm! saftey glasses included. as a former welder, just haveing glasse on saved my behind plenty of times. but they're a bitch in rain. your eyes, your call
