Help me settle a friendly debate...UT Football

One of my dearest friends and I are discussing University of Texas football.

His claim is that for every 1 million UT football fans, 999,000 did not attend the university, and that 990,000 does not have an immediate family member that attended the university.

I call BS...but Hunt Talk could help me win a friendly wager.

There’s somewhere around 500,000 - 600,000 living alumni. Most alumni are fans. Very loyal, multi-generational fan base with a lot of families/friends that go to games together.

Even if you said that 35 million Americans (1 in 10!) are Longhorn fans, by your friend’s math that would mean the school only had 35,000 living alumni. I believe your friend is suffering from TDS (Texas Derangement Syndrome).
