Is chasing Wyoming permits worth it?

If a person is just interested in cows, now is the time to start hunting them. You can have some very good top notch cow hunts if you're willing to pay full price and use your points.

It never has made sense to me that guys will wait 5-6 years to whack a raghorn when they could be having awesome hunts for cows every year.

Many units, esp. Type 4. Check the harvest rates

Points are overrated and depressing. Random draws, leftover lists, raffles, 0-point/100% draws. There is all kinds of opportunity available.

100% agreed. I am a meat hunter which means there is a ton of opportunity for antlerless/spike hunts

At 66 I’m done chasing glory units and squarely in general tag mode. Given the social media throngs these days, I doubt it’s worth low & mid level point holders to wait for a high profile unit. But I don’t even bother checking what those units take any more.

That’s rich coming from someone who just Archery hunted the Paunsaugunt for mule deer for a month straight and has hunted a ton of other high point units…..
