I'm no lawyer, but...

Especially when the evidence in question is produced by the father of one of the defendants. You have to know the defense is going to want access to it.
The time it was presented is what left me scratching my head
 
I am not a lawyer but in Baldwin's case, I kinda feel it is more civil than criminal anyways. I do not think he knew the gun had live ammo in it and pointed it at the camera for a reason and I suspect that was scripted. However, handling guns at all, you should check the loading yourself before you pull the trigger.
