Living in the Chicago area presents many challenges to exploring the outdoors, particularly that there is very little of it available within a reasonable drive. I've been making due lately by photographing whatever critters are around that I can find in either my yard, forest preserves or just out and about. You should see some of my first photos I took when I started getting into it.
For some reason I thought this was the pinnacle of art:

I've been an amateur photographer for 15 years and I'm still improving every time I hit the shutter. Plenty of road ahead of me for learning, too.
