idaho sturgeon

Caught my first sturgeon ever, this week on a hells canyon float trip with family and friends. Rough measurements tape him right at 8'. 1-1/2 hours to land with some raft paddling to get the line off of rocks and a few beers to cool of the reel and the fisherman. Really great experience and amazing power these fish have.

Now that looks like fun!! I've seen some big ones at the Rainy River (Baudette, MN) but I bet they don't get this big do they Fin? Very impressive fish and scenery, Congrats!

That fish has good girth. They really are a local treasure.

Oh that looks like fun. I'm headed to Portland at the end of August to fish for sturgeon below Bonneville dam. I can't wait.

Congrats. I love everything about that canyon. Sturgeon bass steelies chukar mulies sheep, how is that place not one of the best places on earth. Congrats again. Looks like a great fish.
