Yeah, I don't know then.
Looking like your theory might be right

I believe I read on their forum that it is advisable (for best performance) to clear all the copper from a barrel before switching to Hammers from other solid copper (e.g. Barnes) and cup and core bullets. The copper on the Hammer Bullets is softer than other copper solids and cup and core bullets. After switching to unleaded years ago I was a Barnes bullet fan. They never let me down but had some kills where the animal went a bit further than I expected. After reviewing the terminal performance of Hammers and the accuracy people were getting I wanted to try them. I had a new rifle that I didn’t have any Barnes bullets for so I ordered some Hammers. I even emailed Steve and he was more than helpful. I shot a pronghorn lat week with it. It was further than what I would have used a Barnes on and the result was a a dead buck. Once I use up my Barnes in my other rifles I am switching them all to Hammers.
I believe that is correct.I believe I read on their forum that it is advisable (for best performance) to clear all the copper from a barrel before switching to Hammers from other solid copper (e.g. Barnes) and cup and core bullets. Please correct me if I got that wrong.
You are correct. If you switch from shooting lead core bullets and don’t clean your bore you won’t have the accuracy you are looking for. I have experienced this and know others that have as well.I believe I read on their forum that it is advisable (for best performance) to clear all the copper from a barrel before switching to Hammers from other solid copper (e.g. Barnes) and cup and core bullets.
