Second kid just started daycare and we pay it with the same Costco visa as most of our gas. It's always a little eye-opening reading the price on the pump, but it fades quick and feels like a blip when the statement with $2500 in daycare comes.
Just wait until you make the last daycare payment. We just made our last one last month as the littlest starts Kindergarten. So much more money for Busch lattes and fuel.

Yeah our two just started Montessori school… same boat as you… stings a lot. But, it seems like a good investment in their future and development as humans, and isn’t forever.

All we pay for now for our two is before-school care to the tune of about $350/mth. Man, it’s sad to see them growing up so fast, but seeing childcare drop to almost nothing is such a relief. The last decade has been stressful.

I think it would be interesting to do a poll on how much it would take before you cancelled a hunt due to gas prices. I'm with Togie it would cause a lot of other changes in my day to day before affecting my hunt.
I can handle $10 a gallon with a grimace. $20 a gallon will reduce my hunts.

I got priced out of most big game hunting a few years ago. I can afford it, but I would like to retire some day. Points, license fees, travel expenses, etc., all add up to more than I am willing to pay for admission. Not sure how that looks for the future of hunting when more people come to the same conclusion. Still buying elk points in Wyoming for some reason. Volleyball will be my priority for the next few years yet in the fall. I do have a fall muskie fishing trip planned for the middle of October that I am excited about.

Lots of other changes will happen before my hunting plans change. If I was a young family man it would probably be a different story.
