Anecdotally, I used to see Ian MacKaye playing with his kid in the DC neighborhood where I lived during grad school. We once had a brief chat after he noticed I had the requisite “I was a teenage punk” Black Flag tattoo. It was a “the world all comes together” kinda moment.
