Forum disruption

3 nights in a row. 😡 Im down for a 1 time payment to put this behind a paywall. What would be the cost per user to go through the headache and monetary outlay to set that type of system up? $5.99/user? $19.99/user? Id probably go up to 20 bucks without even thinking about it.

I was thinking about it last night. The fee would stop the spammers, but I wonder what the sponsors pay for web traffic? If you have to pay for access, all the looky-loos and 1 time posters asking about units, wont come on the site. Web traffic would decrease, sponser pay would likely follow. The 1 time fee may need to be yearly to offset whatever is lost through advertising + site maintenance. Tough to predict how many subscribers Randy would have. Not sure if thats how it works... but had me up last night.
 
My annually renewing subscription to FreshTracks is what I consider doing my part to keep HuntTalk up and running. I suppose its actually going into a different basket accounting wise, but I do want to support the mission of OYOA/FreshTracks.

 
With the new upgrade, the tech team was able to increase parameters on new accounts and some of this stuff will significantly decrease spammers.

It was updated yesterday and this morning was much better. Only one person got through and lots more were flagged.

I don’t speak for Randy, but I don’t imagine a forum fee is the way to go.
It sounds like an administrative and billing nightmare. The forum is better off when we grow the user base and have more organic posting/interactions.

Other things to consider that helps and are free:

Subscribe to all of Randy’s channels.
Subscribe to all the podcasts and YouTube.
Share episodes and YouTube videos with others.

All those things I mentioned above make an algorithm margarita and helps a lot.
 
It seems that the drop-down replies box has changed to a different color on my phone. My color vision kinda blends the background with the printing.
I had the issue temporarily, I just cleared out safari and opened back up and it has gone back to normal so far.
 
I would think a nominal yearly fee would cover the cost of hiring someone for the billing headache.
Something equivalent to the cost of my new Hoochie Mama elk call...or one of Greenhorn's 6 pack of green beer.
Worth it to me for the bandwidth I use to irritate HEM.
