First time pronghorn

My daughter and I drew our first pronghorn tags this year in WY. Both rifle but in different units. I’ve done a lot of e-scouting looking for water holes, access, camp sites, etc. This is our first hunt together since she graduated college and we’re looking to make some good memories. Neither of us are looking for record book bucks but just a fun hunt.

Congrats on the tags. It should be fun.

One tip I have is remember the terrain can look flat but there are a lot of small draws and other topography. It doesn't take much to hide an antelope. Good news is you can use these to help with a stalk.

I typically don't look for water holes. What's wet when they take the sat pics may be dry in Sept and vice versa. Look for fresh cow poop, that can tell you if water is nearby. Most of my hunting is stopping and walking to high areas where I can glass, you'll know pretty quickly if animals are around. No animals, move on to the next spot. Most fun you will ever have hunting, good luck!

Good for you!! My daughter is my favorite hunting bud also! Great advice above. Move a lot, walk a ways to look into sections of public that you can't see into from the road. If you are a whitetail guy don't get hung up on scent control, their eyes will see you before they smell you. Don't shoot the first buck you see unless its truly a OMG looking buck. They might all look the same at first but glass up a bunch and then the big ones will be obvious. Get them boned out where they fall and meat in the cooler with ice jugs asap and you will have some of the best eating game ever. Best wishes! Please share pics when you get back.
