Few birds

I had a good morning, almost perfect. I didn't miss a bird, unfortunately one was a hen. She didn't make the picture. Looks like more jerky.

Great pics!! Gunr looks to really dig it. Congrats for getting him out, 'specially since you have the time... ;) Your pictures make it to where I think I should get into duck shooting.

I focused a bit more today and took all "greens". Killed every bird I shot at....that doesn't happen often with me. I now have a new friend. No one every wants any ducks until today when someone stopped by my house and took a few off my hands and I didn't have to pluck. Sweet.

What do you think GuNR, good morning?

Good day. Digging that last picture! I can only imagine the conversations you two have... :D

Awesome thread going here mt miller! Thats a lot of green for this time of year. I finally put the hammer down on a few after a long archery elk season. (Thank god that is over) :). Bird dogs are mans best friend no doubt. Anyone who hunts without one is missing out. We hardly have a green headed bird yet in the root. I think I passed on 300 birds before I could pick a green one out.

Thanks guys. I would probably never shoot another duck if I didn't have a pup that just loves being out there.

This weekend I was in about 90% mallards. There were a few gadwall and teal, but I prefer the greenheads. Now if they ever open up the other area I enjoy hunting; cans, redheads and pintails beware. I hope GuNR remebers these days when I put him in jail and chase the four-legged critters.

Fixt it... :D

Now that is a good use of your time. Mine's involved less fun and therefore manly pursuits. That said, my floors have never been cleaner...

Like that last shot. Looks like you were using the old "toss the rock" trick in the photo above it, though. ;)

I think it was a dirt clod. Rocks, sticks, lens caps, fake throws....we change it up from time to time.

Candles can't keep up with the dehydrator.

I thought it was a dead day until 10'ish, then the birds showed up in big numbers. I missed quite a few and GuNR worked his tail off finding my weak shooting exploits and white caps. Mr. Obvious, he is one tired pup. Stellar day for my partner.

Good deal and pic! Glad to see GuNR getting out and growing up.

I mowed the yard yesterday...
