Planning on going back to the 40 Mile country for a moose or caribou hunt in 2011, and looking for a hunt partner. I've hunted the area several times, and have bagged a moose, wolf, and caribou over the years (my 2010 caribou hunt is posted in the "Other Big Game" forum).

If you're interested and want to know more about the area or about me, send me a PM and we'll take it from there.

Michael

The Real Deal

Folks,
Michael is for real. I answered his ad last year and we had a great hunt together.
He carries his weight and plans for every possible circumstance. He has all the gear to be successful and is Alaska savvy!
I'm not sure anyone on this planet has a bad thing to say about 40-Mile Air either.
I can answer any questions you might have if you are feeling overly cautious. You cannot go into the bush without confidence in your partner-Michael will meet your expectations.
I'd love to go again next year but I'd better stay closer to the house for a bit.

Bump...had a couple of potential partners, but looks like 2011 isn;t in the cards for them. 40 mile area is booked up, but some other good moose areas are still available. If anyone is interested in a DIY moose hunt, send me a PM.

Michael

I'm trying to find out what my buddy Taylor is doing for moose, if he don't come up with something quick I may be looking for another adventure to find a big bull moose. I will need to fill my Delta sheep tag first of course. Oh yeah, Michael, I think you know me from the AOD, we've conversed several times in the past.

Let me know what you find out - I have a drop camp lined up, just need to get a partner to commit and then put the deposit down with the air charter. I'm looking at about 8 days in the field, with a day on either side to fly in and out. I'm antsy to get this thing booked. Have a few hunt partners interested, but no one ready to say LET'S DO IT yet; so, I consider the slot still open.

If you want more details, shoot me an email at [email protected].

Do you go by the same handle on AOD, or a different handle?

Michael

Seems like I drew my Montana tag,but LETS DO IT; next year.I'm a definite then, but you were a little late for me this year;sorry

My handle on the AOD is AkHunter45, I don't go there much anymore but I am still a member.

Yup, we definitely traded PMs over there in the past, that forum has changed in the past few years for sure.

If you PM me your preferred email address, I'll fill you in on what I'm looking at for a moose hunt this Fall. I have come candidates interested, but no one has pulled the trigger to commit yet.

Michael

itch, itch, itch, but I'm not scratchin'........yet.

I've had several candidates respond since I posted this, trying to narrow down the best candidates at the moment. Tell you what Nick - I'll do a moose hunt this fall, scout out some new country, take Jaime to Alaska next year, and maybe you and I can get after moose in 2013? That would give you a couple of years to make points with the missus and bank some coin, and we could choose options between the area we hunted last year and the area I'm hunting this year!

Hunt Partner Selected

Thanks to all who responded to my call for a hunt partner! After conversations with several candidates I was able to select a partner and the hunt is now booked. Looking forward to another September in the Alaskan wilderness!

Michael
