This is not gonna buff out,,,,FFS,,,

Federal at the interstate I'm guessing. mtmuley
Dang I’d like to see the language on that claim rejection. Speed limit 80 on the freeway but it’s an open range state so driver be aware you’re not covered if you hit a cow on the there rather than an elk? One more strike against insurers in the mountain states.

The claim was covered. Sorry if I didn’t state that clearly.

My damage was covered.
The rancher was not reimbursed to my knowledge.
I believe my insurance went after the rancher’s insurance because his cattle were on the interstate.
I don’t know how it all washed out but my pickup was repaired and I only paid my deductible.

Glad to hear about the fishing. Im here now, threw everything but the damn sink and got skunked this afternoon.

Not CA or OR.

I don't believe a fine for hitting wildlife exists. Only livestock gets that protection.
Had plenty of cow hit on the road, never heard of anyone getting a ticket for hitting the cow. If they were speeding or driving under the influence, might get a ticket for that if it can be proved.

Hopefully he was salvaged.
I stopped taking deer from work years ago. Too much work to end up throwing most of the meat away. I hate to let anything go to waste, but hours of butchering to salvage a few pounds of meat is not worth it. Now the culled deer I will take. 99.9% of them are shot in the head and no meat gets wasted.

A moose and a deer are completely different scenarios. Zero chance a road kill moose isn’t worth salvaging.
