Dear dinkshooter,
As I pack for my sheep hunt I can't help but think of you. This season just isnt going to be the same without you. I know how much it means to you to come up here each fall. To escape crazy Colorado for a few weeks each fall. I wish there was some way we could make it happen. Im sorry. I know it was rough last year too, this year was going to make up for it...

I heard you have a dink deer tag in NM this fall. I bet your blood is pumping for that excitement! How has training been? You up to a 12 pack without throwing up?

Good luck this fall, and we will miss you up here,

Love,
Alaska

I thought you were looking into moving to Co, now you are in Alaska?

I think that was an April Fool's play, Ernesto's got too many animals still to hunt, he's not leavin AK anytime soon.

E, good luck on your sheep and other hunts! I'm lookin for a moose this fall, just a little smaller than the one you got for your buddy last year with 40 Mile.

Michael

Well I will blame that on relative newbie status. After Wyoming, Alaska is the logical next stop. Good luck to you Wyodeerhunter and I will keep you posted on the hunts here in Sw Wyoming. My boys elk hunt in area 100 is shaping up, good intel coming in from great friends in GW who have had the tags a few times. Hoping for a 300 but will happily settle for what ever he wants to put his tag on!

C'mon guys, try and stay on topic. This thread is for Dinkshooter.

I think he gave up on Alaska and went for the smaller, more feminine Coues deer after drinking a bit too much of this:

Muddy,
Good luck to your son. I love that country down there! It will always hold a place in my heart...like dink's mom.

Michael,
Good luck on your hunt! Can't wait to see the bull you knock down!

Boy all this AK talk probably has dink crying in his pillow more than usual. For good times sake maybe dink could tell us an archery elk story...

I hear the weather in Alaska is going to be socked in for the next 3 weeks. No spotting. No flying. Everyone unpack your gear.

My brother did report that it has been raining quit a bit. I hope it's clear for us. We spent 3 days last year with 100yd. visibility. No fun.

Was out halibut fishing today, it was nice till about 3 hasnt stopped raining sense. Norths forcast is looking alot better then down here for the sheep hunters.

Just got off the phone with my bro and our area has got hit with snow way down to almost the valley floor:eek: He says that it is supposed to be bad all this week. Maybe it will get it out of it's system and week 2 will be beautiful.

It's been raining for the last 4-5 days across much of the state but the forecast for tomorrow and the next 4 days is for clear and sunny skies. It has been a wet late summer this year and the report of some snow is not surprising but fortunately for those heading out in it is that it won't stay. 16 more days and a wake up and i'll be chasing white rams in the DCUA. Going solo so I'll have my pick of rams and not have to worry about finding 2. Good luck to those heading out and those already in the field.

John,

Good luck on your hunt! Sent you a PM.

I can see snow out my office window... its at about 3500'

I'm hoping it warms up, I don't think I have room for an extra blankie.

Bags are packed, we roll in about 3 hours.
