In September of 2011 my dad was involved in a work related accident that almost killed him. His skull was fractured in two places and he lost all hearing in his left ear. He has balance and dizziness problems due to the damage to the inner ear. He was in ICU for 9 days and had to use a walker for 3 months. He has gone through extensive physical therapy and has recovered incredibly well. The Dr's cleared him to shoot in July, and he spent a lot of time at the range with his muzzleloader. We felt pretty good about his situation when we headed out for 5 days of muzzleloader antelope and deer. Things worked out pretty well and my dad shot a 3x3 mulie, a doe antelope and a turkey. From here on out I am now the official pack mule. The old gregory and a ratchet strap is a mean combo.

I only connected on a turkey and if anyone was wondering, 165gr triple shocks out of the '06 will kill a turkey.

A year ago I thought I would never hunt with my dad again so this trip was very special. Hope everyone has a good season and enjoy those hunts with family, you never know what tommorow will bring.

Good job!

Great ending to a story! I still make sure that the ol man goes muzzleloader hunting with me every year, even though it's freezing cold we do it so that we don't loose the tradition. That's so cool that your dad recovered to do what he loves...hang out with you! :)

Outstanding Chris!

I see the resemblance between you and your dad. Congrats on a great season and I appreciate your help with mine.

You need to thank your Dad for bringing you up well and the right way.
Congrats - I got a favor to ask you - do it again. You're a good man

Nice work good and faithful son.

On the turkey shot.......head/neck or center mass targeting ?

Very happy to see your Dad is getting to share time in the field with you. Congrats to both of you.

there's nothin like huntin with your pop. I still hunt with pop and hes 74 years young. He nocked the bull's eye out at 300 yards this after noon. Now we just have to find him a bull.

Good times! My old man ignited my fire for hunting and like to get out with him as much as we can

We shot the turkeys right at the top of drumstick, just like I do with my bow. We only lost a thigh off of each bird.

Congrats, I know what that feeling is like to hunt with your dad after you thought you might of shared your last adventuret together! Awesome story!
