I apologize if there's already a thread on this but I just found out that SCOTUS denied Iron Bar's appeal in the Wyoming corner crossing case, meaning the ruling of the 10th circuit stands, in favor of the hunters. While this does not address the issue nationwide, it does establish good precedent in our favor.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Wyoming has a bill in the process. Hopefully it passes.

After a year’s work to fashion a bill that would codify a federal court decision that corner-crossing is not trespassing, the committee’s efforts died in the most recent legislative session. Lawmakers amended the simple measure in so many ways that it became unpalatable for advocates of public access as well as landowners.

Nethercott, the Republican majority floor leader and Management Council member from Cheyenne, said there’s nothing to be gained from further work on the topic, starting just weeks after the bill died.

A cooling-off period, I think, is appropriate,” Nethercott said. Public land access and corner crossing remain important, she said, but a rest “just allows everybody to reevaluate the current circumstances.”

Reevaluate the current circumstances? The circumstances are that corner hopping from federal to federal is not illegal. It’s just that some people don’t want to lose exclusive access to land they don’t own or pay taxes on.

I had to reread that like 4 times before the double negative cleared itself in my un fully caffeinated state.

Sadly, the double negative seems to be the only appropriate descriptor, as from what I understand per the Appeals Court decision, it is not illegal, (and cannot be made illegal per the UIA), but also seems it has no codified law making it “lawful”.
