Corner crossing SCOTUS appeal

If SCOTUS grants cert - picking the right lawyers will be critical. There are only a dozen or so that can really carry the day in this thin-air venue. And they aren't cheap - prepare to pony up in the fall if this happens.
This is from earlier in this thread. Thoughts?

What call?

That’s so sad if that’s the case. America where who you are and know are more important than the facts??
To be clear. I am not suggesting that backdoor ties lead to incorrect rulings. What I am saying is the frequency of practice in front of a court is a huge advantage. Just as it is in almost any human interaction.

As I understand it, there is a small subset of attorneys that can appear before the Supreme Court.

Query posed to web browser: How many lawyers are in the Supreme Court bar?

By an estimate there are now 75,000 lawyers in the United States who have been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and thus are members of its bar. But there is no record of those who have died or retired from active practice (though the list does record 800 names of lawyers who have been disbarred)

There are now 1.32 million licensed attorneys in the nation according to Google.

It’s a cool thing to do when you visit for a hearing. It’s a form and a fee. No actual practice for 99% of those andmissions. Only a few hundred of those still in practice have actually addressed the court in a substantive matter.

My grandfather proudly displayed that diploma like document next to his law school diploma. Never sniffed the US Supreme Court, and almost certainly the same for Wyoming’s SC (oil and gas attorney)

Read it. Still hear them saying it is their "undeeded" property.

If that is how they are going to play it, they should be paying the PILT instead of the Federal Govt.

Anyone else just slightly concerned (but unsurprised) that the chair of the Fish & Game Commission and President of MT Stockgrowers is the same person? I believe Lesley Robinson has been better than expected as a F&G Commissioner but how do you take this action as president of MT Stockgrower and be able to have any real conversations about hunting access and elk overpopulation on the F&G Commission.
