This bill, sponsored by Rep Jon Becker and Sen Cheri Jahn and co-sponsored by (drum roll) Rep Jerry Sonnenberg, would remove $5 million annually from the wildlife cash fund (hunting and fishing license revenue and PR-DJ funds) and place it in the Colorado water conservation board construction fund, to fund construction of future water storage projects.

Although the bill restricts expenditures that would violate federal law, as written it violates PR and DJ, and would likely result in the loss of an additional $20 million in federal funding each year. The wildlife cash fund is a tempting pot of money for the sticky-fingered legislature. Keep their hands out of it.

Sounds like you have the same types of legislators that Montana does. They just can't stand the fact that there's money in Fish & Game coffers, and are off limits to them.

Time to play the diversion card.

The lack of understanding of the North American Model by legislators across the Rockies is astounding.

The number of special interest groups that go along with it is heart breaking.

The beauty of this bill is they are going to steal $ generated through western slope hunting and use it to steal the west slopes water.

I’ve often been an advocate of cutting off Colorado at I-25 and gifting the eastern portion to Kansas.

.

... so California and Kansas could be neighbors?
