This is one Monday morning's worth of lures, weights, jigheads, etc I picked out of snags with my kayak. I swear after the weekend I can easily find $30-$50 in tackle usually in the same 3 snags. A few split rings and treble hooks and I'll have several new (to me) lures. The green pumpkin chatterbait was definitely the find of the day! I take all the weights and jigheads with rusted hooks and melt them to make my own weights. Free tackle for me the lake gets cleaned up a win all around. Except the fishing it was terrible.

Two of us fished for 7 hours yesterday and didnt hook a fish.
It was a beat down.
Sometimes you gotta wonder WHY you have the lake all to yourself.

Finally got some bloody decks. Tuna fishing has been pretty poor this year, so we felt lucky to get what we did.

You would love it I think. I probably look forward to it as much as going to Alaska every year.

Elk hunt didn’t pan out as hoped, but the consolation prize was fighting 30mph winds to fish a new river. Two hours, 10 fish on dries- even a couple whiteys. Big fish was a brown I initially thought was 20”- photos make me think it was closer to 17”.

Was cold enough my fingers went numb, and I found a couple new leaks in my waders. Worth every second.
