Catch All Fishing Thread

They are cool fish. Didn't realize they would take dry flies.

Likewise! Especially something like a big ol chubby Chernobyl or PMX 🤣 it was sweet! Right in front of me too. They were chasing the streamer hard though, just as many shook off as I got in the net! Just can’t believe there was nothing else interested… Google says all them goldeye are indicative of warm turbid water and likely more sauger/walleye catfish etc in the area… I’ve caught a brown trout 3-4 miles EAST so it’s all a puzzle to me…

River is transitioning, and as well the fish.Brown trout are more tolerant of warmer water than the other trout, but its likely there just aren't many per mile.
Those Goldeye are wicked cool looking, love the large scales and color. They also are eager feeders. But they have soft mouths. In my experience( lake water) they will chase big flies, but their small mouths results in lots of misses. Smaller white bucktail, like a clouser works well.
Sometimes you just have to embrace whatever the water produces.

Shoot...my next question would have been , do you consider yourself an exceptional bait fisherman.
Where upon you say yes, and I deem you a master baiter.
Spoiled my juvenile joke @mtmuley
Sorry. When I was a juvenile I was probably a master baiter. I had the Farrah poster. mtmuley

Sorry, all I could come up with. Just got off the mower...96 degrees and climbing.
Yep, the Farrah/ nipple poster was brutal for boys coming of age. Nuf said.

Couple on topwater early, few on a creature bait, but the zoom Ol monster worm in june bug was the ticket today. Launched at 5:30am and didn't even check the time till 12:15pm. Best therapy in the world! 20260712_063200.jpg20260712_070841.jpg20260712_105226.jpg
