Many years ago my dad, brother, and I caught a ton out of Monterey Bay. We ended up with a whole shelf in the garage filled with canned/jarred tuna. The next couple years we ate enough tuna casserole and tuna helper for a lifetime.

We can a lot it too and really love it.

Just finished up 6 days in SW AK catching big rainbows on fly rods. DIY lodge on a big river dodging gravel bars with a prop skiff. If my friends hadn't been going for 10+ years we would have been lost. I might make this an annual excursion.

Unfortunately fly out to the Kulik river was cancelled due to fog.

Too bad you missed Kulik, it gets crowded but it is insane. The Kulik lodge didn’t open until late during the first summer of Covid. We flew up there from King Salmon and had the river entirely to ourselves.

We didn't take many pics of the fish and not as good of quality but I will text you some more. Took us a couple days to get the hang of things navigating the river and how to fish with gear we hadn't used as much. So pics weren't a priority.

My boy strikes again with another nice cutthroat! Need to get some better lures that these high mountain trout really like to bite, some panther martins or something. It fought great and tasted delicious.

I haven't been out fishing in a while and haven't done any open water pike fishing this year so went today. This was the last fishing trip for me until there's spearing ice.

Boated 5 pike. Three undersized, kept a 28" & released a 38" to hopefully see in this winter to force feed.

I fish alone so flagged down and older gentleman to take pictures. You might be able to run him through fingerprints for an ID

follow up on this. Finally got the results of the tag and WOW. The biologist is extremely confused on how a fish that in over three years only put on 1.7". That isn't good.

And that was that.

Kind of a slow fishing season for us, with a lot of work and not many productive days when we did go fishing and selling our boat last fall. But here are some photos of the better catches. Got to fish Ft. Peck two weekends and didn't have any luck as compared to previous trips, but it wasn't my boat so I couldn't give much direction and was along for the ride.
