Of all the salmon I think I liked targeting silvers (coho) the most. Great fun on spinning tackle they are a hoot on a 7 or 8 wt. fly rod.

I took my son and a couple of his buddies, who have never caught grayling, to one of my favorite backcountry lakes today. #16 renegade or a #16 gnat was the ticket today.



Everyone caught plenty - grayling are absolutely gorgeous fish!

Fishing my local lake and finally after many years just may be figuring out the walleyes in this super deep lake (235'). There isn't a lot of structure to work with and many straight cliffs which results in a pretty darn good walleye fishery as most anglers can't catch them. We normally get 3 to 4 on a good trip but yesterday in 2 hours we really got onto something getting 8 and kept 7. The fish are so fat and healthy from a diet of ciscos (lake whitefish)
