Nice cool morning in eastern NM, and the walleye bite is still hot. Caught 20 but most around 14", maybe a couple at 15", no big ones today. Finally got a topwater bite and caught 3 nice LM bass, fun to catch.

Today I was able to fish one of my favorite brook trout streams. It’ll produce a high double digit day frequently and an occasional triple digit day. Today was the latter.

Wasn't my catch. We caught 2 on our trip and divided them amongst us. I like it grilled.

Managed another few hours on the water this week. Some wild browns with some stockers mixed in

The crappie fishing in central lower Michigan has been good enough to allow me to have a nice meal once or twice every couple of weeks. No real giant slabs but good quality eaters. Fishing should continue to be decent through July then taper off, just in time to start working the bird dogs

It was a bit of a slow weekend but still some good fish to be had.

We forgot how bad the holiday traffic is here. What should have been a 4.5 hour drive took 9 hours.

Back in the kayak over the weekend.


Was out looking for these fellers.


But this lady came out to say hi. My measure net goes to 20 inches and she was hanging out past the markings. She swam away to fight another day.

A good morning with the kayak in the river. Put a smaller flathead back along with a 32" blue. Kept 3 good ones that I gave to a guy I work with. He was excited to say the least.

A boat ride with a side of fishing over the long weekend with my dad, nephews and daughter. As her shit-eating’ grin would suggest, she caught the only fish and reminded her cousins all weekend.
