Bye bye Bitterroot

I'm envious. No rifle shooting at the range on Easter. So I worked on my shed and ended up in the ER. 27 years of using a Skilsaw, but one moment of carelessness will do it. Wish I woulda been fishing. mtmuley

Those things are not very forgiving. I lost the tips of a couple of fingers with one. Sorry to hear your bad luck. Been there done that.:(

Thanks guys. No major damage. Just hurt pride and some stitches. After all these years, that blade guard probly ain't gonna be pinned up anymore. Sure was another beautiful day around here though. mtmuley

Wonderful photos mtlion - thanks for sharing. What were you using/size?

We have a hatch here called skwala, you can google it, they're big stoneflies. I was trying to hit that but had no action. The last couple years I've nailed it and it is phenomenal. We had to resort to nymphs, double bead prince nymph was good and pheasant tails landed a few.

Absolute gorgeous day here almost hitting 70. I think you'll enjoy floating the yellowstone, bighorn and clarks fork of the yellowstone. I had a good day on the water.

Back when I lived in Bozeman I would meet my buddy from Sheridan and we'd float and fish the Horn, it's going to be nice to start doing that again. The Yellowstone near Big T is one of my favorite areas to float, haven't done it since we moved here, will also be nice to hit that again. I've never fished or floated the Clark's Fork, definitely on my list though.

Yah I hear floating from greycliff to columbus is also a good float on the stone too. I wish I had a boat like yours, I have so many float trips around here planned for the day I get one. Make sure you stop in at east rose bud fly shop off of 24th when you get into town. The guy that owns the place and his dad will get you squared away. The best customer service ive ever experienced any where. He'll tell you where to go and what to use. Good luck on the move!

Hit me up after the move, we can give one of those floats a try. It might take awhile I have a new son coming about the time we move then it's hunting season so it may very well be next spring before I could get out.

What's the fishing like around Billings on the Yellowstone? I hear it's about the farthest downstream you can catch any trout and you get cats and sauger, is that true? What's the fishing best for in that area?

Closing on the new house tomorrow and getting a moving truck lined up for early next week. Very soon will be an ex "Rooter".

As I said before I'll miss it over here this an awesome corner of paradise.

Wooot!

I'm back baby. Opportunity knocks and we have another go in the Root.

Look out bear, turkey, whitetail and trout.

Growing up, all I wanted to do was leave the Root. Years later, all I wanted to do was come back. mtmuley

Thanks guys. I can't wait to get back, sometime in May it looks like. If I have my way I'll never leave again :)
