So I have been using onXmaps to try and scout out a good area in Colorado to hunt 2nd season rifle and cannot really find areas that have burns in roadless areas. So would you rather hunt a burn that has roads (vehicle and ATV) or go to a roadless area that doesn't have any burns?

I can't stand seeing everybody hunting from their vehicle, so I tend to take the route that will lead to seeing less people and having a more enjoyable experience even if it means not getting an elk...so roadless area for me.

Definitely look for roadless first in my opinion. Or places where most people aren't willing to go. Which usually means roadless.

I assume since your talking about 2nd rifle in CO that pressure will be heavy. I would go to the roadless area for sure. If that burn is near a road its going to get hammered. Try to think about where those animals may go once they are pushed out of that burn (assuming they'll be in there).

Elk will go to a roadless area whether it is in a burn or not. They will do whatever the can to stay away from pressure.
