Bitterroot Lions are hard on wolves!

I thought some of you might find this interesting. Seems cats are effective on wolves too.

I think they were. Those lions are Denny's homeland security lions protecting the boarder.:hump:

About 5 years ago, I walked up on what I thought was a lion kill, something just caught my eye, there was no skull around, just some half buried bones. I pulled a giant tracking collar out of the bones and brush. It was a wolf tracking collar. The local wolf guy was frickin thrilled to get that collar back. But thinking back on it, it makes sense that it was maybe killed by a lion.

She's the head FWP wolf biologist for the state? I know she is for region 2 at least. I've interacted with her quite a bit and she seems like one of the good ones.

That makes me even more scared of mountain lions. The one animal I don't want stalking me while I'm hunting.

Yeah, I've been around Liz a bit. I think she's a good one.

I think a lion can kill about anything out there. Even in a scrap with a few wolves, if he gets the right opportunity he'll make the kill, whereas the wolves will likely just give him a few good owies before he runs and trees... cats are bad ass.

Looks to me like the cats are fed up with the wolves killin all the elk and deer and are makin a payback

Whoever came up with the idea of giving mountain lions the tracking devices to find collared wolves deserves a medal.
