I decided to do a bit more discussion about the many aspects of the BBB that are going to impact wild places and wild things. We need all of these resources, but there are proven ways to do it better, with more regard for wildlife and the local economies. Yet, the political machines have favors to repay and our public resources are the currency used for repayment.

Great summary. My only positive is that nothing is “permanent” and we are at full employment so there aren’t enough people to cut the timber, dig the coal, or drill for oil to meet these numbers. So there is some time, at least until November 2026. As much as we wish it was non-partisan, it is a very partisan.

Well all those able bodied dudes in their 20s sitting around collecting Medicaid with their feet up drinking cognac will now have to get jobs right?

Informative podcast, thank you. It’s crazy how much made it through with little to no fanfare because of the public lands sales.

The reduction of or lack of royalties is a kick in the teeth. Especially from an administration that talks about public lands being an asset in a ledger book. Obviously not.

And the exponential increase in board feet is wild. Like stated before, infrastructure and bodies aren’t there so it will be interesting to see if and how any of this is implemented.

Thanks again for all the timely information.

Those child labor laws are pretty inconvenient, too. And how about we attach some conditions on social security. Lazy slackers need to pick up a chain saw. Plenty of options to get the price of a cardboard box down to something reasonable.
