Seems like there are quite a few Montanan's on this forum, what are the top things you'd do if you were visiting Livingston for a day? Talking strictly in town.

Ha is there a good town to visit around Emigrent? One of the best sights in Montana is Livingston in the rear view mirror.
Kinda looking for the hot spots for bars and restaurants? Anything worth while? Not a lot to do downtown other than just walk around and poke your head into some shops, art galleries or restaurants / bars. Old train depot has a museum in it if you’re really desperate. In summer there’s a flea market down by the railroad tracks. That’s about it.
There is a Dairy Queen there. Can’t be all bad.One of the best sights in Montana is Livingston in the rear view mirror.
I have lived in or around Livingston for most of 60 years, DQ is probably the best thing about it.There is a Dairy Queen there. Can’t be all bad.
Matt’s has processed quite a few critters for me. Great folks. They make a good sandwich as well.Check out Matt’s Old Fashioned Butcher Shop and Deli. I know the owners and they do a good job on their processed meats.
We went through the drive up there once. I ordered a chocolate ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. The gal hands me a cone and says “we accidentally made it with vanilla, so you want this one to go with the chocolate? Free?”I have lived in or around Livingston for most of 60 years, DQ is probably the best thing about it.![]()
Or hoping to run into Tucker. Is Dan Bailey's fly shop still in operation there? May be a neat spot to visit if you're into fly fishing.
It's changed owners a few times. I would recommend it over the chop house now.Curious how Livingston Bar and Grill is now; we were there BITD for burgers, beer, and calf fries after a day on DePuy's, then there when Chatham bought it and brought in fancy dishes.
Kinda liked the first iteration better.
There is a few good restaurants in town. Livingston bar and grill, Fiesta en jalisco, and Los Pinos. Pickle barrel and Matt's for good sandwiches. If I were to go to a bar it would be the office. Check out the upstairs of wolf's mercantile. Some pretty fancy guns up there.Seems like there are quite a few Montanan's on this forum, what are the top things you'd do if you were visiting Livingston for a day? Talking strictly in town.
