Bambis 2012 brown bear hunt. We're going to try a new thing on a live hunt and kill something.

Day one.

Weather has been terrible. Flooding everywhere. No better time to try the new sitka STEALTH CAMO. This stuff is legit guys. We managed to stay dry the whole drive down.

We finished off some beers and got some shut eye.

Good luck.

Hope everyone understands the difficulty factor exponentially raises when you are making a quality hunting show under the conditions Randy chooses.

Quotes from the hunt so far:

Indian larry : im so thirsty. ( hes sitting on a case of beer wtf?)

Bambistew: im not sure if im legal to drive yet. (As he is driving down the road)

Woke up to more rain. Going to do some serious road hunting this am.

UPDATE: Made it back to "base camp", still lots of rain and rivers are still high.

Seen a lot of animals but nothing that meet our standards or anything worth skinning in the rain.

Ill try and get pictures up once i get to a computer.

Sounds like you're having fun. Stay safe.

Live hunts need photos!

That may be true but a HUNTING show has dead in it. Fact.

Back to the Livest hunt there ever was:

So like we have said the weather has been crap. But that is no excuse and we are not looking for one. We kept at it and soon spotted a sloth of bears. How many do you see?

Did I mention the Sitka STEALTH CAMO? Here is a picture of Indian Larry and B-stew standing with prime bear country in the background:

You can barely see them? Incredible! Camo should be mainsteam right before christmas FYI.....

A little background on where we are hunting. The moose population is low because the brown bears have killed off everything. In fact we were only seeing 8 to 10 moose per 3 sq miles. And not only have the bears killed off all the moose but we also saw ZERO elk, mule deer, antelope, and honey badgers. It was pretty obvious that there was a bear problem. And the problem we had was only having one tag......

Is there a reason we haven't had an update for today???

We have been busy, here is your update for today.

We woke up to more rain and flooding, so much that they closed down the river. Here is a picture of the boat launch.

We managed to find some moose today but only small bulls. The bears in this unit are trophy hunters and only kill the big bulls because there is more horn to chew on after the meat is gone. So we hope to find the big bulls because we know the bears won't be far behind.

We did mange to find a bear late in the day but we didn't feel like skinning a wet bear and have all week to hunt so we took a few picture and headed back to good time charlies.

HAHAHA!!! Good Time Charlies!!! When I was working in Seward for a summer we used to make a biweekly pilgrimage to that delightful establishment. BTW, my old man is stuck back in his moose hunting camp with two bulls down, unable to get out do to the flooding.
