Attack on the Feds independence

As a matter of fact, yes.

I paid for over half a guided dall sheep hunt with the best outfitter in Alaska with a 2 week fire check playing Pulaski motor.

Think that gap hasn't widened?

You think many people scratching fire line are paying 65% of a dall sheep hunt with 2 weeks pay?

I know they aren't.

Another perfect example of wages not keeping pace with much of anything, houses, vehicles, clothing, food, insurance, rent, etc.

The one exception may be Montana Resident deer ($16) and elk ($20) tags...I'll give you that one.
Damn nice life decisions. Straight out of college and you had a 4000 sq ft house, dall hunt, 2 new cars and hunted 3-4 states. That’s awesome! Was not the case for me or my parents or theirs or anyone I know except you. You chose wisely!

Have you kept the rental rate on your second house about steady over the past five years, or increased it?

So you think 25 year old college graduates are clearing 20k every 2 weeks to go Dall sheep hunting cutting fire line?

Yeah 25 years ago.

You can pay for your house with a years wages now?

Sure.
Nope not 25 years ago. Hard to pay for any home with one years wages if that's what you mean. Endured some shitty things. Not saying it's easy. mtmuley

Haven't increased it for 7 years. Renters just signed another year lease so will be 8 years same rent. Currently about $250/month under market.

I don't need to milk every last dime out of everyone else, why I don't make a good business man, or Republican.

That's great, sounds like the cost of living/market there is stable, and you don't have to worry about increasing property taxes, etc.

We own the rental so the increase in taxes and insurance isn’t worth passing on to the renters. Maintenance isn't bad since we replaced all the appliances, hot water heater, remodeled the bathrooms, etc. before we started renting it. New roof about 3 years ago as well. I also take care of the yard.

Place is better than when we lived there.

If I wouldn't live there, I wouldn't rent it. Not in it to maximize profit, just a solid place for someone to rent at a fair price.

Like I said, I wouldn't make a good businessman.

I don’t have any idea what fire line work pays and you know that. But I assume no. Also think that if dall sheep hunt affordability is the metric you come up with to determine that salary limits and increased wealth distribution needs to occur then you are out in left field

One of many, that I already pointed out and were conveniently ignored.

Perhaps one day you will see your dream of a Mamdani Presidency come true and we will all be hunting AK on a months pay at McDonald’s.
I was thinking more along the lines of people working full time jobs that are paid enough they don't qualify for Medicaid, section 8 housing, and food stamps.

You know being paid enough to have the basics without the businesses they work for letting the taxpayer make up the difference. We used to call those subsidies.

Crazy huh?

If a person is working full time and still qualifys for food stamps, they should walk across the street to McDonald’s and get a job that pays more than $10/hr. They advertise for around $16 where I’m at.

That might work in Rock Springs but not everywhere.

I realize that is asking an awful lot from the wealthiest country in the world. A full time worker that can afford the basics.

A full time workers ability to stay off food stamps, Medicaid and other social safety nets is largely a result of their choices of job, training and personal life.

Crazy to expect a bare minimum of personal responsibility, huh?

For the record your McDs worker still qualifies for assistance at $16 hour.
