Retiring in the Pacific Northwest

I grew up in the gorge. Stevenson gets 60-80" of rain a year. It's miserable most of the year. And there is a 10x difference between now and 15 years ago. The woods are crowded. Portland "found it "
 
Of course, the weather anywhere isn’t consistent year round. You can look at climate data to learn the changes.

 
Man, the Willamette valley isn't getting enough love. It's beautiful. The rivers that flow from the westside of the cascades are incredible from the Molalla to all the Santiams, the Sandy and Clackamas, the McKenzie and Willamette. And the rolling oak topped hills with snowy peaks in the background, and the coast only an hour over the hill.
