Ive been in Union for 5 months and moving everyone up to Moss Sprgs on Sunday. Smoke is pretty bad in Union/Cove so I dont know if it’s any better up there. That photo was 8 miles west of La Grande

Elk Camp with the boys in November! 2nd year at this spot and its gonna be a blast

Whats a season goal this year?
Have fun and fill the freezer before I have to leave home for a couple of years

Any new piece of gear you’re excited to try?
New MR Metcalf pack. Wanna do some backcountry extended hunts when I get home in a couple of years

No water up at Moss Springs in spite of the name. Primitive campground.

I harrowed up a couple food plots today so I guess you can say its getting pretty serious

Opening day. Truck is packed. Backpack is packed.
Rifles cleaned and re-fouled. Sandwiches and snacks squared away.

About to pull out for the trail head. Picking up my partner at 4AM

I'm always ready to shoot some doves which will probably be the thing I get to do the most this year. Heck, my wife has a cow tag that opens today but with an infant and no family around to help watch him it's gonna be difficult to get serious about a tag. I'll be more excited to get my wife on an elk or deer, than go hunting solo. I'm always amazed at how much some of you can hunt. Good luck.

Fishing AK end of August. Rifle pronghorn in Wyoming for me, nephew, and Dad. Followed up by rifle pronghorn with 3 NR friends. Early October Montana moose with a friend. Mid October moose with my Dad and Brother. Back to Wyoming rifle elk for some NR friends. Back to Montana rifle elk in the breaks with my oldest nephew. Back to NW Montana set deer/elk camp with family and a friend or two. Back to Wyoming bull elk and at least 2 cow elk for myself.

Other than that, not much going on.

4 more days. Bucks are pretty sparse until this morning. We had 5 bucks from little bitty spikes to a couple pretty good size forkys. With the heat that is setting in its going to be challenging to find them.

It was 44 degrees this morning it’s like my brain relates cooler weather to hunting so I definitely got the itch!
