Inflation average during Obamas 8 years was 1.46%, per investopedia. Gas prices rose in the middle but by the end of his administration the average was $2.15

Presidents have more influence over inflation than gas prices. The good ones hold inflation down by listening to economic experts- NOT denigrating them and trying to fire them--and just as if not more important, avoiding actions that increase inflation.

Trump has set a new bar in personally influencing both higher inflation and sky high gas prices through his direct actions. Most of which were highly discouraged by economists.

It should also be obvious by now he really does not care, and gets irritated and worse when people suggest it should even be a worry for anyone.

My comment relates to the FACT inflation value related to crude under Obama's administration was considerably higher than Trump's. Even removing inflation, all together, It was still higher during Obama's 2010-2014 than Trump's second term. (We need the Bull Moose Party! )

Yes, most people see high gas prices as a proxy for inflation, including Bonasababy when it fits into his narrative. Obama had high gas prices to begin with, then fracking technology kicked in to make the US oil and NG supply more abundant, lowering the price at the pump. His policies did favor higher hydrocarbon costs to allow green energy alternatives a chance to be more competitive, but that never panned out. Eight years of very cheap money provided by a very friendly Federal Reserve helped keep measured inflation down, and allowed the Bezos/Musk type business models to thrive. Damn rich guys getting richer!

This post is spot on but you will never be able to convince a MAGA voter that Trump is helping China more than hurting it. And Canada isn't the problem. The increased influence across Africa would be my largest concern.
