They aren't exactly apples and oranges, they're pretty friggin close. Focused on eating more whole foods, improving school nutrition, better clarity on labelling.

I still remember when I was in high school (1983) and rfk made a visit to my home in the Black Hills. He got pretty sick on the flight. Probably the menu.😜
 
Seems to work pretty well for Europe
While they do regulate ingredients that can be downright dangerous, they don’t regulate what you can purchase at the grocery store, per se. They do make it easier for a consumer to make informed decisions with scores prominently placed in the corner of packaged foods without having to interpret whether ingredients no human can pronounce will plug up their colon.

It’s not so people eat better, it’s to stop rewarding companies for making food literally addictive and bad for us in spite of the obvious negative social impact.
The companies seem to be doing ok.

Sure, I guess it is good getting rid of artificial dyes in M&Ms but I think the fact that dye-free M&Ms are 4x the cost of regular M&Ms will drive sales more than the regulation will.

Back to the point, you can’t separate the bat-shit crazy MAHA ideas from feel-good, eat-healthy ideas. RFK has done an immense amount of damage to the public perception and funding of mRNA vaccines. Tangentially it is damage to expert-based science. The cancer drug news is great to see, but certainly will be interesting to watch because backtracking is not rewarded in this Adminstration.
