Airport drinking

I found out on my flight east on Friday, the key to airport drinking is to have the company pay for a first class ticket. Free drinks during the flight!

My local airport has recently been using those full body scanners. Last time I went through one I made a joke about them being able to see my wang. The guy kept a straight face and asked what was in my pocket as this big red rectangle was showing up where my front pocket would be. I pulled out a pack of silly-gummies, the guy waved me through and I proceeded to open and eat them while my stuff was going through the x-ray machine. The guy laughed and wished me a safe flight. My coworker and I made our way to the lounge and indulged in beers waiting for our flight.

This is how civilized societies operate!

When I have to go back east or overseas I’ll go across the bay and take a shuttle to that airport. I’m thankful my company gives me a card that gets me into the Centurion lounges. Makes arriving early more tolerable.

Man, the SFO Centurion was awesome when it first opened in 2014ish. No such thing as a waitlist, Free Coravin pours (including some really excellent $100+ retail bottles), really good food. One time my wife and daughter were with me and they had a deal with Coach where you could customize a free Coach passport holder. Really above and beyond at the time.

Now most of them have gotten crowded to the point I don't usually bother. Except Laguardia (currently my weekly destination) which is shocklingly not very full even on Thursdays and Fridays.

Other airport observations.

If half of all humans are female, why is there always a queue at their public restrooms? Does it take longer for them because they wash their hands?

No, they just take time to not piss on the floor like dudes seem to do.

Definitely a planes, trains and automobile trip. There wasn’t any drinks.

I was planning to let this thread die a quiet death. Reading it stone cold sober from home later and I come off like a raging frat drunk. Time to be a bit more circumspect.

Having said that….

Enjoying a double Woodinville in a SeaTac bar today. A guy walks in and order a glass of Chardonnay.

I’m thinking, “Good Lord, be a man. “

No doubt he can finish a 5k. My finishing one is in doubt at the moment.

We all find something to make us feel superior.

Burned all my miles to take MRS to Alaska. Back to 58k already.

A “Perfect Day” on Sunday. 100° & 100% humidity. Good day for sweet tea.
Upper 90’s Mon-Tue.

Packed the suitcase this morning and yesterday’s shirt was still damp. Good times.
