5 Year Plan for Hunting

I have a plan to start using up my points and considering the thought of not big game hunting once my points are gone. I plan on bird hunting as duck hunting is my favorite hunting to do.

Does anyone else have thoughts?....

As someone that shares your passion for waterfowl hunting, my suggestion is to not buy pts in any state except WY. Between Id, NV, NM, and WY 3 of those you can apply and draw tags w/o pts. This is what I do, I have enough opportunity in these 4 states to keep me busy.

I have burned up most of my points in AZ and CA. As an avid duck hunter I take a DIY big game approach to hunting waterfowl. I am collecting all the North American waterfowl species DIY. I go across the continent from CA to FL to AK to NZ. Sometimes I stay in hotels, sometimes I camp out. This approach gives me the adventure of a big game hunt without having to draw an expensive tag or general license. Most states offer small game license at a fraction of the cost.

I plan on going back one day during the early fall migration, and I hope to draw an emperor tag. A Kodiak deer/duck combo hunt is on the list too.
