Potato salad and the 4th. Tradition. mtmuleyYesterday, I was visiting with a 85 year old friend from the gym. I mentioned to him that he has been alive for 1/3 of our country's existence. It shows that while 250 years is a long time, we are a young country.
In a few minutes, we are going to grill some brats on the grill, to go with the potato salad my wife has spoiled me with for 48 years.
I hope everyone gets to enjoy some good food, with good friends. All of us are very fortunate that we call this country home.
Any chance she shares that recipe?Yesterday, I was visiting with a 85 year old friend from the gym. I mentioned to him that he has been alive for 1/3 of our country's existence. It shows that while 250 years is a long time, we are a young country.

Generally fireworks reflect ignorance of the sound of freedom. Some who cherish the right for late night into early morn explosions disregard the misery of the greatest generation of WWII and others who lose needed sleep. I contend that fireworks exploded by nimrods across the otherwise peaceful neighborhoods of America are not about celebrating Independence Day with sincere gratitude for being born in the USA ... but are merely about a primal self-gratifying urge to blow schtuff up, with total disregard for others.George washington sure wouldnt give a #*^@#* about those fireworks laws!
Let freedom ring.

Friday and Saturday nights took my feeble mind back to the combat zone! This July 5th morning finds me with an irritable lack-of-sleep attitude. Already reported fires are caused by carelessness in the "celebratory explosions". I support fireworks laws and use only in isolated boom parks, like dog parks, and large displays only by professionals with established time and place constraints.
End of rant as my right to freedom of expression, a legitimate right.
I watch all 10 about every year.Band of Brothers…gets to me every time.
