4th

Worked all day in the park. Keeping it simple this evening with grilling hotdogs and listening to a live band in the neighborhood. Happy 250 America.

All fireworks and parades canceled due to extreme drought and the Aspen Acres wildfire south of here. So dry and risky citizens are actually abstaining from their own fireworks, as LEOs and fire trucks cruise the streets. Smoky orange air. Still, livin' the dream of self-determination for 250 years.

Yesterday, I was visiting with a 85 year old friend from the gym. I mentioned to him that he has been alive for 1/3 of our country's existence. It shows that while 250 years is a long time, we are a young country.

In a few minutes, we are going to grill some brats on the grill, to go with the potato salad my wife has spoiled me with for 48 years.

I hope everyone gets to enjoy some good food, with good friends. All of us are very fortunate that we call this country home.
