4th of July scouting / camping trip

Went out to our spot in the Flat Tops over the long weekend to do some scouting and general camping (complete with prairie dogs this year). We (hunting buddy and fellow vet) try to go this weekend when we can. Weather is usually good and my buddy, who is a Purple Heart recipient, doesn't do well around the fireworks. Better for us both to get some peace. It was a great 4 days with only about 30 minutes of rain. Here are some pics....The spot where our "big brown friend" is we had just walked through about 20 minutes before

He is the one that took me on my first elk hunt and truly treats me like a brother......not a big sacrifice to head to the woods and drink with him
