I don’t get to hunt my tag till Dave shoots an elk. I hope I can find one as nice.

I just measured one horn and doubled it and had him at 77". Spent about 60 seconds on it. I don't think I'm going to stretch him to 80" but I think I left about 1/2" short on the length just kind of starting down at where the horn and hair meet. You get a little extra there where the horn is a bit lower at the front usually. I might not have done a great job going up and around the top of the horn either.Definitely shoulder mount him. He's to gorgeous not to. What did you come up thru on score?
Since score seems to be a determining factor for mounting him or not, have a SCI measurer do an official score. SCI is basically gross B&C and doesn't require a drying period. Also, it helps to watch someone who has experience scoring for the next time you tackle that yourself.I just measured one horn and doubled it and had him at 77". Spent about 60 seconds on it. Looking back at the measurements on my 2018 buck I had him at 4" on the 3rd mass measurement and this one only at 3.5" and it sure looks like this one has better mass on that measurement for sure so either I messed up measuring the 2018 buck or this one.
I am curious enough looking at the comparison picture to want to spend some time doing a good measurement on him.

Congrats on your buck!
He looks good in the pics. Be interesting to see what he ends up going when you tape him good.I just measured one horn and doubled it and had him at 77". Spent about 60 seconds on it.
