The 2010 hunting season is off to a decent start. I spotted a herd around 11:00 a.m. this morning. I made a quick stalk and was back to the truck before noon with a decent archery Javelina in hand. I didn't get great pics but not photo regret material either.

By the way, if you've ever tried to clean a pig up for photos, it's not the easiest thing in the world. Sorry about the blood.

Nice work.

I have a few friends in AZ that are hunting up near you right now. So far they havent shot any.

That weather looks nice. I am moving to AZ.

Awesome day.

Highs around 60, lows around freezing, hard to beat in January.

Nice job. Now stop messing around and go kill a deer.

Dude, I've let a lot of bucks walk. I can't find any muleys over 130. Maybe this weekend I can find one. I just looking for a P&Y buck, doesn't seem like I'm asking for to much.

Nice job on the stink pig.
I'd love to get down there some time and hunt those guys.

Did you draw two deer tags?
Or would this deer count for 2010?

Carp, shmarp. I mean a real deer.

Oh, you're one of those guys now?.....;)

One deer per year, archery deer runs most of ,if not all of January in many units. It's an over the counter tag. Shooting a buck isn't a problem, shooting something over 3 years old seems to be the problem this year.

Nice pig, porky. You seem to know where those thing are as you do not take long to stab one every year. I know thay are easy to kill, it's finding them thats the hard part

I'm just lucky that I own my own business and it's slow in January. I've spent most of the late mornings this New Year looking for pigs or deer. Eventually I was going to catch the pigs feeding after sunlight. Today it just worked out.

Congrats on the javelina. I'll be chasing them this weekend and hope to have the patience to shoot it with a bow.
How'd it taste?
