Montana Alternate list
I think they have a policy of 10 days of something from the time they contact the next group for acceptance or rejection. Then they send out another batch. (Call them like someone suggested). A couple years ago by the time they got to late October it was a free for all....they notified...- ErictheRed

Did someone calculate how many actual tags 3% represents? I realize it’s a guess. They said 2,482 in the press announcement. Is this the number of extra tags given out?- ErictheRed

Is it possible this is all planned as a revenue increase for the department? Residents basically hunt for free....a straight cost to the State. But if they handed out 5,000 more tags to Non-residents, that's $5M un-budgeted, incremental uplift. the Director would be a hero to the...- ErictheRed

Don’t forget in 2020 they had to do a redraw on placement in the alternate list! I went from 1300 to 381 and got my tag. Actually I think everyone got a tag on Alternate that year. But it was messed up.- ErictheRed

Me and the wife drew three tags! Two does and a buck! She’s never hunted antelope before so we’re pretty excited! Been a great draw year…big game combo, elk B, and three antelope. Only missed on 1 buck antelope tags.- ErictheRed
