@BcGunworks That kind of experience definitely leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth, I’m glad she was able to spare him from the misery to come

Thanks for all of the responses guys, we will be heading out the 8th and can hunt until the end of the season if needed. The roads could be a blessing and a curse, my 72 yo dad will be coming along with 2 doe tags and can't quite pile the miles on like he used too. I'm not looking to shoot anything huge and drew the unit with only 1 point. The road hunting will be bad the first 3 days of each week for the 2 week season.
Middle of the week it will calm down.
There are some other zones with less roads not far away.....shhh secret. They take 3-4 points for out of state.
Those small sections are where I would be.
The western part of the unit is a lot more sparse, and broken country. Do what you want with that information. Also bring a few duck decoys and a shotgun

I would also start with the regulations myself:Bump for how does one find the specific part of area 29 where a type 7 license is valid? The WGFD site seems to be near useless when searching.
I would also start with the regulations myself:
29 7 Aug. 15 Sep. 30 Oct. 1 Oct. 31 50 Doe or fawn valid on private land

I did, but it doesn't tell much.
Of course it is and I know that. They don't make it easy to tell where in area that private land is. It's not valid in the whole area like a type 6 tag is. I believe it is valid in the part of area 29 which is west of I-25 which leaves me SOL. Was just wanting to see something from WGFD to confirm it. Even at that there are a measly 50 tags.It tells you everything you need to know; the tag is valid on PRIVATE LAND ONLY.
