Here's a couple screen grabs from the '26 Dakota Transportation Annual where they touched on DOTs across the west and their successes and future plans for additional wildlife crossings.

I'm happy to see these projects getting lots of support. Some of the numbers they're seeing in collision reductions are incredible.

Thanks for posting this. Wildlife crossings have been my life's work for over 30 years now. As a wildlife biologist my interest has always been in helping wildlife navigate our nations complex network of roadways and other infrastructure. With the death of a close friend from an animal/vehicle collision, it provided added incentive in the early 2000's. Wildlife and humans alike benefit from this expenditure of funds and fortunately this has not yet become a polarizing political issue with red and blue states both supporting wildlife crossings. Not to say that all people agree with wildlife crossings, but I think a majority do. I'm always happy to discuss this topic if anyone has questions or thoughts they want to share. I'm fortunate to have worked on wildlife crossing studies and design projects in numerous western and mid-western states, not just Montana where I call home.
