So far it's been a wild start for our Christmas season.

Sunday night we had our Christmas play at church and my 12 year old Emma sang:

Then Monday night she woke me up with a stomach ache. She toughed it out until Tuesday evening when we visited the ER. After several grueling tests it was determined she had appendicitis. Wednesday morning they successfully removed her appendix. She is doing great and we are back home. She's a little sore but looks great. Our former governor and current US Senator Joe Manchin stopped by with Santa to make a visit.

Thankfully it was caught early and we are back home for Christmas.

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth.... and a good apendix !! WOW !!! Merry Christmas.

Glad all is well bud !

Well, I can't top that for a good war story, but I'll be seeing my daughter tonight who just got back from China, and my son, who is driving in from Rexburg today (it was -2 when he got up this morning), and another daughter and my two grandsons. Three kids out of four ain't bad.

Wishing everyone out there a happy Christmas and peace in the new year.

Kids, they're a lot of fun but it can be pretty scary for a dad when a child is hurting. My worst times at a hospital haven't been when I was hurt, but when one of my kids was the one in the bed. Glad she's home and doing well. Merry Christmas!

Thanks everybody. She is doing great. She's much tougher than I usually give her credit for.
