You would be correct.
There isn't too much to really write about this adventure regarding the bears. We knew we were going late and that certainly was the case. Everything was extremely green - way more so than last year. As a result, there were bears we occasionally saw on the beaches but not nearly the numbers I'm sure that were out and about a few weeks prior. I didn't have a huge itch to hike around and explore looking for opportunities so the bear hunting was strictly via glassing from the boat back into secluded bays.
We did see bears, even a massive one that ended up having 3 cubs show up along her side ruling her out. There were two chances that would have been likely a slam dunk but both were likely around a 300# bear and I was just mostly interested in watching them as opposed to killing one it turns out. Zero regrets not getting a bear.
